TWLOHA. This really bothers me.

lostandgone:

My sister really likes my TWLOHA shirt. She’s been askin where and how I got it. I explained I bought it but I could also earn it with the credits on FanCorps. She doesn’t even know what the organization is all about but she wants to promote it using fancorps just so she can get a shirt. I tried to explain what the organization is about and how it originated but she was just like “umm ok I don’t really care”. What the fuck?!?! Bitch then you don’t deserve to wear that fuckin shirt!!!

I’m sorry but TWLOHA is one of the few organizations I feel really passionate about; maybe the only one I feel this passionate about because I can relate so much to it, in every way. I think only people who truly understand it or truly want to help are the only ones who should wear anything TWLOHA-related. These things are not just for fashion purposes, they are to represent a belief/cause.

On the other hand, she’s still contributing money to the organization so that’s not as bad of an idea as I thought (when she sees how many credits she needs she will give up and she’ll just buy it).

so, all those millions of people who wore lance armstrong bracelets when they were a fad—do you really think all of them were passionate about finding a cure for cancer?  do you really think that all of them even knew that that’s what it was supporting?

it’d be great if everyone really *was* passionate about those causes, but since that’s not realistic, it never hurts to have some really savvy marketing guys pimp fashion trends in order to bring in $$$.
